FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Oakville, Ont., October 31, 2024 – The Oakville Community Foundation is proud to announce it has placed 10th in the ranking of the 2024 Top 50 Equitable Funders in Canada.

The annual research and ranking, compiled by Future of Good and QuakeLab, highlights organizations that have demonstrated notable progress in promoting equitable funding practices and fostering positive social change.

The Foundation’s inclusion in this group reflects its ongoing efforts to support initiatives that address systemic inequalities and enable a more just and inclusive society, like Debwewin: The Oakville Truth project and the Enable Education course, among other efforts.

“We are both thrilled and surprised to be included in the 2024 ranking of the Top 50 Equitable Funders. Our intent was always to be a reflection of our community,” said Wendy Rinella, CEO of the Oakville Community Foundation. “Diversity, equity and inclusion is an important part of our mandate as a local grantmaking organization and we are proud of the steps we’ve taken to be recognized as the 10th most equitable Canadian charitable organization.”

The Foundation is grateful to its Board of Directors, volunteers and partners for their guidance and support.

Vinod Rajasekaran, CEO of Future of Good, emphasized the significance of this recognition.

“This annual list is groundbreaking in its ability to spotlight foundations that are truly advancing equitable funding practices. The Oakville Community Foundation’s inclusion is a testament to their commitment to enabling positive social impact and fostering equity within their team and community.”
