The Oakville Community Foundation is thrilled to announce that Razan Hamad has joined the Oakville Community Foundation team as an Accountant!
Having immigrated to Canada in 2011, Razan has since held key positions in both corporate finance and the non-profit sector throughout her career. Her corporate journey includes roles in financial analysis and management, where she developed her skills in financial reporting and strategic planning. Razan holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting and finance from Beirut Arab University and a Professional Accounting Diploma from Sheridan College. She is currently pursuing her Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation.
Razan is deeply committed to community service and volunteer work. In 2016, she co-founded the Syrian Canadian Foundation, helping newcomers integrate into Canadian society. She has also volunteered as treasurer for the Parent Teacher Association at her children’s school. Razan believes that giving back to the community is a duty, privilege, and an honour that she is happy doing every day.
Residing in Oakville with her husband Mahmoud, who she has been married to for the past 23 years, they have two children, Mona (21) and Sami (16).
Razan is thrilled to bring her accounting expertise to a charitable organization that aligns with her passion for community impact. “Joining the Oakville Community Foundation is a dream come true,” she says. “I’m thrilled to learn more about community foundations and contribute to the organization’s success.”
Outside of work, Razan enjoys traveling, exploring small towns, and uncovering their histories. She is an avid reader and a lifelong learner who is always eager to expand her knowledge.
