The Lighthouse for Grieving Children
Children, Youth & Family ServicesFundraising goal: $25,000
The Lighthouse for Grieving Children provides free peer support for grieving children, teens, young adults, and their families. We offer open-ended, on-going grief support groups to help families re-adjust after the death of a parent or sibling. At the Lighthouse, they meet others like them, no longer feeling “abnormal”; children feel permitted to grieve and ask questions, find resources in themselves and through new friendships, to adjust to their “new normal” and recover, living life post-death to their full potential. As one child stated “I’m not alone when talking about my feelings and that everyone can feel sad, mad and frustrated.”
