CPS – Thinking “Outside the Box” to Help Kids Mental Health
The chronic stress and trauma of the pandemic contributed to high levels of mental health challenges in youth and highlighted the limitations of traditional mental health care delivery (1 hr./week).
We will teach parents Collaborative Problem Solving (CPS), an evidence-based, trauma informed approach to mental health care that they can use in everyday with their kids. This “outside the box” approach can build flexibility, frustration tolerance, adaptability, coping and resiliency skills. Training parents to use the CPS approach is a powerful way to help address our kids’ mental health needs, increase access and include parents as active members of the child’s mental health support team.
