$400K available in scholarships and educational awards for local students

Oakville, Ont., February 10, 2026 – The Community Education Awards Hub has reopened for 2026 with more Oakville-based scholarships, bursaries and education awards worth a total of $400,000 for graduating students heading off to post-secondary education. 

Students can register for The Awards Hub and take the eligibility quiz to narrow down available scholarships, bursaries and awards they qualify for. Award requirements and deadlines vary by organization and award. All applications are completed in the system.

Some OCF-offered awards include:

  • The Oakville Youth Education Award is a one-time scholarship awarded to up to 20 students for $2,000 each and recognizes students who demonstrate non-academic achievements. These awards have been generously matched by the Miller Family Foundation.
  • The Pehar Family Mental Health Scholarship is a one-time $1,500 award given to a single student who has demonstrated a strong understanding and compassion towards supporting others who are struggling with their mental wellness.
  • The Kick Start Your Education Award is a one-time award given to a single student in the amount of $1,000. The award recognizes those who demonstrate involvement, integrity, improvement and inclusion.
  • The Kopriva-Robinson Family Foundation Award is a one-time $5,000 award that recognizes a single student who demonstrates non-academic excellence, including involvement, integrity, improvement and inclusion, at school, through extracurricular activities and in the community.

“The Awards Hub makes the process of applying for scholarships, bursaries and educational awards easier and, hopefully, less stressful for both students and the organizations offering them,” says Jaya Mootoo, Director, Fundholder & Community Engagement. “We want students to know that this money is available for them, thanks to our generous Fundholders and partners.”

Students successfully awarded the Oakville Youth Education Award will also be invited to a special ceremony to celebrate their achievements along with their friends, families and other award partners on June 4th at Ford of Canada. 

Students can find scholarships, bursaries and educational awards through The Awards Hub offered by: Halton Learning Foundation, Halton Region Chinese Canadian Association, Henderson Partners, IODE, May Court Club of Oakville, Oakville Chamber of Commerce, Oakville Community Foundation (and its partners), Oakville Lions Club, Oakville Rotary Clubs, Optimist Club of Oakville, University Women’s Club of Oakville and Woodview Mental Health and Autism Services.
