Debwewin – the Oakville Truth Project, has launched to further our shared understanding of Oakville’s Indigenous past and support local Truth & Reconciliation. To support this effort, land-based signage of the two Treaties 14 and 22 – will soon be installed throughout the Treaty areas in Oakville.
The Foundation is providing smaller versions of these signs for sale. Each is mountable wall plaque is 14 x 18 and laminated. With every purchase, a small portion will be directed to the Debwewin Project as well as the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation. These signs have been developed to both inform residents which Treaty they are on and to inspire them to be grateful Treaty People.
