Big Brothers Big Sisters of Halton (BBBSHH)
Children, Youth & Family ServicesFundraising goal: $20,000
We offer both group and one-to-one mentoring interventions. We work predominantly with children who are experiencing challenges in life that can create a hindrance to their success; challenges such as poverty, learning disability, mental health issues, family violence, neglect and parental mental health issues.
Our interventions are evidenced based, targeting specific issues and youth, rather than providing generic interventions and experiences. Research supports that a more specialized approach is most effective when working with equity-seeking communities and that this mentorship model helps young people to build the self-confidence and resiliency that enables them to grow and thrive as successful, contributing adults.
