In 2007, our son Alex was diagnosed with osteosarcoma. We knew we wanted to remember all that Alex exuded – he taught us much about love and support, courage, determination and connection. He was simple, yet magnificent; he left us in awe.
To honour Alex Murrary Pace (AMP) the 11-year-old boy who inspired us, AMPed for Life was launched to not only fundraise but to raise awareness for local charities assisting children and families in need. Through our signature, annual fundraising event, the Bal de Neige and other fundraising efforts, we have been able to bring Alex’s spirit to many. To date, we have raised over $2.85 million in support of a number of charities including:
- Coast to Coast Against Cancer Foundation
- Kerr Street Mission
- Lighthouse Program for Grieving Children
- Wellspring Birmingham Gilgan House
- ArtHouse
