Oakville Community Foundation to distribute $550,000 through Community Services Recovery Fund

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Oakville, Ont., January 10, 2023 – The Community Services Recovery Fund, in collaboration with the Canadian Red Cross, Community Foundations of Canada and the United Way Centraide Canada, is now open for applications.

The Community Services Recovery Fund is a historic one-time investment of $400 million by the Government of Canada that will help community service organizations to adapt, to modernize and to be better equipped to improve the efficacy, accessibility and sustainability of the community services that they provide, so they can continue to support communities across Canada through the pandemic recovery and beyond.

Community Foundations, including the Oakville Community Foundation, are managing the application process alongside the Canadian Red Cross and local United Ways in order to reach a broad and diverse range of community service organizations that include charities, non-profits and Indigenous governing bodies.

Through this Fund, The Foundation will help to distribute $550,000 to community service organizations that apply through the Investing in Systems and Processes Project Focus Area. Other Project Focus Areas include Investing in People, administered by the Canadian Red Cross, and Investing in Program and Service Innovation and Redesign, administered by the United Way. Applicants can determine their Project Focus Area through the Where to Apply Questionnaire.

Applications for funding can be submitted here until February 21, 2023. Additional information and resources, including an applicant guide and upcoming webinar, can be found here.
