Meet the New Members of the Board

Yesterday, the Oakville Community Foundation held its 29th Annual General Meeting where three new members were elected to the Board: Andy Aicklen, Julie Cordeiro and Christine Langevin. Read on to learn more about them.


Andy Aicklen

Andy Aicklen is currently a part of the Community Legacy Building Committee of the Oakville Community Foundation. Andy is a seasoned technology executive and entrepreneur after dedicating his career to Enterprise Technology and focusing on Sales. Andy has over 30 years of experience as a technology sales leader, holding key roles such as VP of HP Software & Solutions Canada, VP and Managing Director at PeopleSoft Canada, and Vice President of Services for Gartner Group Canada. Since 2012, he has served as principal of Aicklen & Associates and has worked with over 45 clients globally on a number of sales and leadership initiatives. He was formerly the Chairman of the Board for The Lighthouse for Grieving Children as well as a board member for Arthouse for Children and Youth.

Julie Cordeiro

Julie Cordeiro currently serves on the Community Legacy Building Committee for The Foundation. She has worked in the legal and investment industry for almost 25 years in a multitude of roles. Currently, she is Vice President, Chief Administrative Office, and General Counsel at Burgundy Asset Management. Julie has her Master of Laws (LL.M.) from New York University School of Law, and a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) from the University of Windsor.  She is a member of the Board of the Canadian Coalition for Good Governance (CCGG) and is the Chair of the CCGG’s Governance Committee, as well as being the Director of the Burgundy Legacy Foundation. She has lived in Oakville for 20 years with her husband and 2 daughters. She actively volunteers and is a member of the Appleby College Parents’ Association executive committee.

Christine Langevin

Christine Langevin, CPA, CMA, CDir., BComm., serves on The Oakville Community Foundation’s Finance, Risk & Audit Committee. She has been principal of a boutique accounting firm for over 26 years serving nationally as well as locally. Christine has taught Financial Accounting, Managerial Accounting, Finance and Business at Sheridan College and has worked with CMA Canada and the University of Toronto with their professional exam processes. She has also served on the Human Resource Professional Association Board of Directors as Chair of the Audit and Finance Committee; Oakville Chamber of Commerce OABE Judge; and founding member of the Kevin Flynn Mental Health Foundation. She began volunteering in the community from a young age and has recently been Chair and a Director of the Oakville Centre for the Performing Arts Board of Directors, Northeast Oakville Fair committee, sign bylaw committee and founding president of the Halton Civitan Club. As a Board Member, Christine plans on contributing to sound financial and risk management, upholding the Foundation’s Code of Conduct and values, and ensuring equitable access to services for the community.
