The Jen Brown Memorial Scholarship Fund was established by Woodview Mental Health & Autism Services to honour the memory of Jen Brown who passed away in May 2020.
Jen Brown worked with Woodview for 12 years and gave her heart, soul and grit to the Youth Overcoming Depression and Anxiety program as well as the youth engagement initiative. She put the client at the centre of the service, was an adamant voice to the voiceless and always fought for the underdog.
Graduating from Osgoode Hall law School with a primary focus on the law as it affects persons with disabilities, Jen’s commitment for helping grew even stronger as a lawyer. Her integrity never wavered as she challenged the system to ensure that an individual’s dignity and well-being was at the forefront.
All donations will go towards the Jen Brown Memorial Scholarship, awarded annually to a current or previous participant in one of the Woodview Mental Health and Autism Services programs to help with the cost of post-secondary education.
This memorial scholarship will memorialize Jen’s memory of going above and beyond to help students achieve their dreams and will be accessible through the Oakville Community Foundation’s Community Education Awards Hub in 2022.
