Community Living OakvilleChildren, Youth & Families
Community Connect will create a model to move away from the historic concept of congregate, segregated day programming to fully participating in the life of the community. It challenges systemic practices and community services to become diverse; educating community partners and creating an inclusive community for all.
Community Connect will provide people with developmental disabilities skills towards independence and connect people to members and services in our community. Through providing people with skills towards independence, they will be able to participate in community services, creating public awareness and reducing stigma through educating community members. Diversity will be celebrated as people are involved in their community.
