Distress Centre Halton
Health & WellnessFundraising goal: $25,000
Since the first COVID-19 lockdown, Distress Centre Halton volunteers have responded to over 63,291 calls with people in need of help. People call our centre for many reasons: anxiety, depression, and stress; relationship issues; financial concerns; loneliness; or crisis intervention (suicide, violence, and abuse).
For over 49 years, The Centre has provided free, confidential phone support to help people in our communities to better cope with crisis, loneliness, and emotional stress. Support from the community allowed us to set our volunteers up remotely, so that they could take calls from the safety of their home during lockdowns. Your support means we can continue to offer remote options for our volunteers, so they are prepared for whatever comes next.
