In Halton, there are almost 12,000 single-parent families, where 4 out of 5 are led by single mothers – and 42% live in poverty.
The story of poverty is never the same. Family breakdown, abuse & generational poverty can lead a family to homelessness. Poverty travels in hand with compounding issues such as lack of affordable housing, food insecurity, and isolation. HSH’s Homeward Bound Halton program addresses these issues, in addition to education and employment.
Each year, OCF fundholders invest in HSH single-parents and their children to break the cycle of poverty. You will help bridge the gap during a family’s 4-year journey from poverty to self-sufficiency. Your investment will have a profound long-term impact across generations.
