The Start2Finish (“S2F”) approach, which is grounded on the belief that no child goes off the rails when someone has genuinely cared about them, empowers children to achieve success. As Oakville’s equity deserving children continue to wrestle with the long-term impacts of COVID-19, mental well-being solutions are vital. S2F has piloted three approaches to intervention that have proven highly successful.
The GIVEOakville funding will be used to enhance/expand S2F’s operations in these areas. This includes hiring a local Parent/Guardian Engagement Coordinator and a Community Partnerships Liaison, and enhancing their trauma-informed mental health curriculum that equips children with social-emotional competencies to overcome barriers and thrive.
